mix it up

When it comes to work attire, women’s clothing can be so boring… pantsuit or pencil skirt? Coordinating different outfits seems to be a common problem amongst the professional ladies out there. Well my answer to that question is– be bold.  Step aside uneventful grays and ho-hum black! Mixing prints is 100% allowed, even in the workplace.

If you are like me, laying in bed conjuring up outfit ideas, challenge yourself to think of your boldest prints (even if you wouldn’t normally wear them together) and then try them out in the morning. Trust me it becomes addicting. I have spent many sleepless hours mentally pulling apart my closet. And in the AM, even if the outfit feels unfamiliar and maybe a bit… rebellious, wear it! You’ll thank me later!

{the Fit}  Three dots cardigan, unknown brand skinnies (via Ambiance), Kate Spade wallet, Shoedazzle flats

I remember backwards day in grade school… what? Am I the only one?!

I actually swiped the inspiration for this fit from Krystal (seriously one of my faves!), who puts a classic chic feel to it. I toned down the show-all back with a pair jeans and neon flats. I love the silver toe on these flats, I bought them months ago and they’ve been collecting dust in my closet ever since. With the gorgeous weather, I think I need to change that!

hello yellow

One of the advantages of heading to the rents for the weekend (outside of amazing home-cooked meals) is raiding my madre’s closet. I found this classic argyle sweater from the early eighties that  I thought looked swell with this yellow leather jacket. Layering is still a necessity, but the weather has been inspiring enough to pull out spring colors!

{the Fit} Asos blouse, borrowed sweater, Ann Taylor leather jacket, necklace via Nordstrom (old), Cheap Monday jeans, Dolce Vita platforms, H&M clutch (old), Betsey Johnson sunglasses
