Extreme Sweater Weather

(Photo via Pinterest, Target sweater)

Guys it’s -30 degrees in Chicago today. Like unbearable. My crazy, rambunctious dog does not even want to be outside today (which has never happened!). Just about the only thing getting me through is some serious cozy sweater action, blankets, movies and unlimited amounts of hot tea. Pablo and I have been watching this show my brother got us into called “The League” on Netflix, pretty hilarious that I am contemplating joining a fantasy football league now, ha! (It’s the cold weather messing with my brain.) Anyhow back to the fashion.. when it comes to shopping sweaters I am a big advocate for having some investment sweaters in your closet, like really nice cashmere and wool, but you can never have enough sweaters/jackets in the Midewest. So my one-stop shop for comfortable and trendy sweaters at an affordable price is Target. If you guys follow me on Instagram, I am sure you have seen some as I sport them quite a bit and am acquiring quite the collection. Below are some of my faves for you to shop! Happy Monday and stay warm out there!

Snowy Hearts in Colorado

(A very tired puppy)

Hope you all had a very Happy Holidays! It always goes by so fast! My New Mexico family had a wonderful time in Colorado playing games, hitting the slopes and drinking hot cocoa. Here are some of the snapshots… this heart sweater from Riffraff.com was perfect for a day of sitting in the ski lodge with a class of wine and a good book. Ahh I want to go back, but now back to reality. Pablo, Blu and I hit the road on our way to Nashville and then were back to party in Chicago by NYE. So happy to have a few days to relax since I basically can’t even leave my house with all of this snow! It is so crazy here in Chicago, but I kind of love it. #homebody

Double Plaid

{the Fit} Urban Outfitters cape (similar cape), Zara plaid top (similar), Splendid leggings, Alexander Wang rocco bag, Steven by Steve Madden booties (in black leather here)

We have been on a little vacation for the holidays this year: first to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a week in the gorgeous snow and then headed to slightly higher temps in New Mexico for Christmas with my hub’s family and then trekking back across the country with a stop in Nashville(!) on our way home to Chicago. Serious roadtripping this season and I love it!

We snapped these shots in my neighborhood before leaving and I really like this plaid-on-plaid combo. Basically I am looking for every opportunity to buy more plaid this season, I can’t get enough! Though there has been a lot of hype around mixing prints in the season past (which I also love), I really have enjoyed mixing the same prints this season. By mixing the same prints, I mean different stripes-on-strips or mixing polka dots, etc. You really can’t go wrong.

Hope you all are having a safe and fun holiday season so far! I cannot believe it is only three days until Christmas! But I will have you all know that I have not suffered from LMSS this season. Shopping is 100% done and now onto the wrapping!
